About
Taking climate change into account
Over the lifespan of offshore wind farms which is more than 25 years, the wind resource, or in other words the wind distribution, might evolve leading to a modification of the associated energy production. The intensity of extreme wind events as well as their frequency can also change and impact the design of the wind turbines. Extreme wave and water level events are also to be considered because they are dimensioning for these systems.
Towards indicators and uncertainties assessment
2C NOW R&D project was set up to provide different indicators to assess the expected evolution for the next few decades in terms of wind power and design conditions along the French mainland coasts. The aim was also to assess uncertainties of current approaches and reduce risk of conservatism. The 2C NOW final webinar gave an overview of the different outputs of the project.
Webinar resources
A final webinar presenting the project’s key findings was held on 5 May 2025. Most of the presentations given are now available.
