France Energies Marines offers a wide range of jobs within a team of 90 people. This gives agility and cross-functional capabilities to better innovate for offshore wind energy.
The goal of everyone at France Energies Marines is to use their expertise to make offshore wind as efficient and reliable as possible, at an acceptable cost and with a reduced socio-environmental impact. To fulfil this mission, our team of 90 people is 100% dedicated to research and innovation. Its strength lies in its multidisciplinary approach and the complementary nature of its profiles. This enables it to work in an integrated manner to remove the bottlenecks that the offshore wind sector faces.
France Energies Marines has a wide range of scientific expertise. Our scientists collectively cover disciplines in the following fields:
Beyond the scientific disciplines it masters, the France Energies Marines team also possesses valuable cross-disciplinary skills that are an integral part of the jobs.
Functional management, coordination of technical work and its delivery, budget monitoring, meeting deadlines, etc.
Compliance with regulations, configuration, installation and retrieval of appropriate measuring instruments, data acquisition and management, etc.
Atmospheric modelling, wind-wave-current modelling, aero-hydro-servo-elastic modelling, animal movement modelling, food web and socio-ecosystem modelling, etc.
Automatic detection and identification of species (acoustics, images, radars) or anomalies (in-service monitoring), forecasting (migration, weather windows for maintenance)
Initial and continuing training, acculturation to technical skills, face-to-face and distance learning, etc.
The scientists at France Energies Marines are effectively supported by various support functions that ensure the smooth running of our Institute. These functions form a solid foundation that promotes cross-disciplinary collaboration: marketing and business development, information systems, scientific communication, project management coordination, human resources, finance and administrative management, legal affairs.
France Energies Marines brings together a wide variety of profiles that enrich our team. 7% are technicians, 30% are PhD researchers, and 49% are engineers. As training is an integral part of our activity, we currently supervise, either independently or in partnership, 7 PhD students and 4 post-doctoral researchers. Each year, we also welcome postgraduate students who are pursuing university or engineering degrees.
The experts on this committee are leading authorities in their respective fields and work at prestigious institutions abroad.
I have always made it a point of honour to be proactive, to work with great rigour and to quickly acquire the necessary technical knowledge.
The aim is to provide stakeholders and the general public with access to the knowledge of scientific experts.
The France Energies Marines team is growing steadily, boosting the digital twins focus.
Our research aims to provide wind farm developers with reliable, accurate information on turbulence intensity at the sites concerned, in order to optimise turbine design and layout.
