Floating wind turbine monitoring

Final webinar of DIONYSOS project

About

In-service monitoring challenge

Against a backdrop of energy transition, renewable energies are experiencing rapid growth. Floating offshore wind turbines stand out for their higher production performance. However, for this technology to be economically viable, it is crucial to optimise the lifespan of these systems and improve their performance. One of the major challenges therefore lies in the ability to assess the actual state of fatigue of the structures, and to identify any potential anomalies.

The digital twin contribution

This was the aim of the DIONYSOS JIP, which uses a methodology based on the concept of a digital twin – in other words, a virtual replica of a physical system – to simulate, analyse and optimise its performance in real time. This webinar will focus on the main outputs of the project useful and usable for the sector.

Webinar resources

A final webinar presenting the project’s key findings was held on 10 December 2024. Most of the presentations given are now available.
