The development of offshore wind farms (OWF) highlights the challenges of integrating OWF into complex socio-ecosystems. France Energies Marines has built up expertise in the ecosystem approach, which is based on the analysis of socio-ecosystems to understand the interactions between wind power, societies and the environment in a holistic vision. The candidate will support the Institute’s expertise development and the setting up of R&D projects on the theme of the environmental and societal integration of OWF through the prism of the Human and Social Sciences and in an interdisciplinary manner. In close collaboration with researchers from the ”Ecosystem & Society” research department, the candidate will contribute to the development of cross-disciplinary tools and methodologies to improve the consideration of socio-ecological and economic issues related to the development of OWF.
Reporting to the head of the “Ecosystem & Society” department, the candidate will have the main tasks of:
Master’s or PhD in a discipline of Human and Social Sciences
Knowledge of the context of offshore wind development in France and internationally
Postdoctoral experience after the thesis or 3 to 5 years’ experience after a Master’s degree
