Environmental impacts of wind energy

France Energies Marines has just joined the ranks of the ambassadors of WREN, a collaborative international program that focuses on the effects of onshore and offshore wind energy on the environment. Launched by the IEA Wind in October 2012, it currently brings together 12 countries in Europe and North America.
The Institute thus becomes the French contact point with the other ambassadors of the programme and relays the progress concerning wind energy and biodiversity at the national level. In this context, a scientist from our team will prepare synthesis and participate twice a year in plenary meetings to review the state of scientific and technical knowledge on the topic.
