About us
France Energies Marines is a key actor in energy transition and energy sovereignty. We design and lead innovative research projects to overcome the challenges faced by offshore wind energy. The software, standards and methodologies we develop enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector, both in France and internationally.
France Energies Marines is a private-sector research and innovation centre specialising in offshore wind energy, with a recognised industrial, economic and societal impact both in France and internationally. Under an agreement with the French government as an Institute for Energy Transition, we set up and lead innovative multi-partner projects, tailored to the sector’s needs and leveraging our scientific partners’ expertise.
Our mission is to remove the hindrances to the development of offshore wind energy through research and innovation. Supported by the French government, our Institute draws on a passionate, multidisciplinary team of over 90 staff, a network of international experts and unique facilities. Thanks to this, we lead multi-partner research projects to tackle the technological, environmental and socio-economic challenges associated with offshore wind energy. We thus contribute to the development of tools and standards validated by in-situ data to de-risk the deployment of offshore wind farms. We boost the sector’s competitiveness, enhance the attractiveness of regions and support the actions of regional and national authorities. Three core values guide us in our daily work.
Inseparable from our mission, it lets us design and offer unique, relevant solutions with high added value.
