MEMOFLOW: deployment of new instruments

The measuring buoy of MEMOFLOW, the permanent Mediterranean observatory for floating wind sectors, was successfully redeployed at the end of November at the MISTRAL test site belonging to the Valeco Group. In addition to the weather station already present, several new instruments are present on the buoy:

  • A GNSS-coupled inertial unit
  • A 3D anemometer that collects more accurate wind data
  • A tension sensor that allows in-service monitoring of the mooring system. The return of experience from this deployment will be used as part of the MONAMOOR project.

MEMOFLOW’s purpose is to provide the actors of the floating wind energy sector with data for resource assessment, environmental studies, but also for the design and integration of systems.
