Launch of an international alliance on floating offshore wind

Tuesday 18 November 2025 saw the launch of an international alliance aimed at accelerating the development and industrialisation of floating wind power. Named The Moonshot, it brings together six institutes from six different countries, including France Energies Marines.
The creation of this multilateral frameworks follows an international collaborative workshop held in Kyoto from 29 to 31 October at the initiative of the Japanese Floating Offshore Wind Technology Research Association (FLOWRA), with which we recently signed a memorandum of understanding. More than 60 industry experts, recommended by the six founding organisations, held in-depth discussions on the many challenges facing floating offshore wind . The six organisations behind The Moonshot are committed to working together to establish international frameworks that promote the commercial and industrial development of floating offshore wind.
