The international technology collaboration programme dedicated to ocean energy has just published its 2021 annual report. The document provides a comprehensive overview of national policies, research and technology demonstration in the different countries involved. The report also presents the achievements and progress of IEA-OES projects.
Despite the complicated context, 2021 was marked by sustained innovation and international collaboration, which allowed for the continued testing and deployment of ocean energy recovery demonstrators. The report reveals that several projects have reached significant operational life and a growing range of systems are being tested in the open ocean.
